Job summary

LIPCO ENGINEERING is seeking a warehouse operative to manage deliveries, collections and inventory. You will maintain stock levels, check despatch documents, and ensure accurate recording of items in the MRP system while handling packing and shipping to customers and suppliers.

The role focuses on upholding housekeeping, safety, and continuous improvement by following processes, supporting stock takes, and arranging suitable packaging and transport according to customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliveries and collections to customers and suppliers.
• Maintenance of vehicle.
• Workshop housekeeping to include, emptying bins, sweeping and cleaning floors as required.
• Ensure consumable stock levels and consignment stocks are within defined limits.
• Ensure fixtures and gauges remain protected, functional, and are calibrated.
• Document and maintain records of all equipment and stock issued.
• Monitor and upscale abnormal usage, whilst controlling the issuing of consumable stock.
• Arranges shipments by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating delivery requirements
• Verifies items shipped by matching Despatch documentation; reconciling quantities; noting discrepancies. Ensure all documentation is properly maintained, reviewed, collated and filed.
• Arranging packing/packaging and transportation method - in conjunction with the customer requirements
• Arrange shipments to Suppliers and ensure parts are adequately packed for transit
• Accept and unload delivery vehicles as required
• Book into MRP all goods received and ensure receiving items are correct to quantity and specification and ensure a bin location is allocated.
• Ensure all customer returns are properly segregated, labelled and included onto the NCR register
• Ensure all documentation is properly maintained, reviewed, collated and filed.
• Kitting
• Using MRP and setting up sheets to create and issue kits for works orders, in a timely manner and ahead of the production requirement.
• Break down the kits after use, and ensure the parts being restocked and stored are functional and protected. Replacing and escalating as required
• Inventory Management
• Ensure all items are properly located and protected to ensure there are no transit damage from Stores to shop floor.
• Participate in annual stocktake and Perpetual Inventory or spot checking as directed
• Prepare materials for shop floor use
• Promote a safe working environment and ensure that H&S rules and regulations are adhered to and all matters relating to this are dealt quickly & effectively.
• Proactively identify risks.
• Ensure all PPE guidelines & policies within your area of responsibility are adhered to.
• Understand and display the values, challenging behaviour that is contrary.
• Ensure all Company standards for Housekeeping and Image within your area are adhered to.

• Understand and follow your process, escalating issues if the process is not reflective of your task.
• Participate in change management and continuous improvement activity.
