Job summary

EDT (Engineering Development Trust) is seeking Casual Programme Workers across the West Midlands to deliver STEM workshops and youth programmes for ages 9-18. This role supports engaging activities, fosters curiosity, and helps young people explore future STEM careers.

You will assist with safeguarding, logistics and event delivery across face-to-face, online and residential sessions, working with schools, volunteers and industry partners.

Qualifications

• Experience in teaching assistant or learning support roles.
• Experience in community engagement and youth work.
• Experience coaching or mentoring young people in educational settings.
• Interest and openness to STEM outreach and schools partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Deliver interactive STEM workshops and activities for young people aged 9-18.
• Facilitate group discussions and team-based challenges in a safe environment.
• Lead and motivate groups while providing pastoral support and encouragement.
• Support safeguarding, welfare and health & safety requirements.
• Assist with programme logistics, registration and event administration.
• Build positive links with schools, volunteers and partner organisations.
• Support face-to-face, virtual and residential learning experiences.

West Midlands England (Birmingham, Coventry, Nottingham, Black Country (Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, Wolverhampton) and surrounding areas.

We are expanding our pool of Casual Programme Workers across the West Midlands to help deliver innovative STEM education programmes, workshops, events and residential experiences for young people aged 9-18.

This is an ideal opportunity for those with experience in:

• Teaching Assistant or Learning Support roles
• Community Engagement
• Coaching or Mentoring
