Ministry of Justice is seeking Admin Officers to provide administrative support and customer service to court users, judiciary and management in a fast-paced environment.
Welshpool Court operates Monday to Thursday with hybrid working on Fridays; additional hybrid days may be possible when hearings are not listed. You will progress cases, check documents, and maintain records using our in-house systems while liaising with the public and professionals.

Our Admin Officers play a critical role, providing excellent administrative support and customer service to court users, judiciary and management.
HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family Courts and Tribunals in England and Wales. Our roles support our court users and colleagues within HMCTS, where people and businesses access potentially life-changing justice. We’re looking for individuals who are committed to public service and making a difference in people’s lives to deliver justice.
Working as part of a team, you will contribute to the overall operational, performance and service standard targets across your area of work. You will progress cases through the court/tribunal system and provide administrative support to functions within HMCTS. You will have regular contact with court / tribunal users, which could include members of the Judiciary and the legal profession.
Welshpool Court is open Monday to Thursday; the successful candidate will be expected to work on a hybrid basis on Fridays. In addition, where there are no hearings listed on a Thursday, and subject to operational requirements, hybrid working may also be accommodated on that day.

These operational roles are customer facing, requiring successful applicants to be office based to provide HMCTS services to the public. Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week. HMCTS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs and are agreed prior to appointment. All applications for part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns will be considered in accordance with the MoJ’s Flexible Working policy.
The appointed candidate will be required to work five days within a six-day working week. Saturday attendance is subject to business requirements, with an alternative day off during the week to be scheduled in accordance with business requirements. Additionally, the role includes participation in a Bank Holiday rota.
Skilled Worker Visa - This role is not eligible for new Skilled Worker visas in accordance with the current immigration rules.
From 22 July 2025, the Government increased the salary threshold and skills level for Skilled Worker visas. This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for sponsorship in accordance with the current immigration rules if you looking to apply for a Skilled Worker Visa for the first time.

If you have held a Skilled Worker visa continuously, please raise this during your vetting checks and eligibility will be assessed in accordance with the immigration rules and transitional provisions in place.
