Job summary

St Bernadette's Catholic Primary School is seeking a Facility Supervisor on a permanent basis. The role covers general site maintenance, cleaning, basic repairs and ensuring a safe learning environment. There is a full-time option 9:30-5:30, 52 weeks with 25 days leave, or a 30-hour week 11:30-5:30 with pro rata pay.

Facility Supervisor- Permanent position

Full time 9:30-5:30pm, 52 weeks a year with 25 days annual leave. There is also an option of 30 hours a week 11:30-5:30pm Salary: BB04 Salary £27,274 - £28,153 per annum (pro rata if 30 hours) An opportunity has arisen at St Bernadette's Catholic Primary School for a reliable and flexible School Caretaker to join our team, who is keen to make a difference and assist with maintaining the premises and grounds to a high standard.

Job overview

As a key part of our site team, you’ll have responsibility for general site maintenance, using a varied skillset to carry out tasks such as cleaning, refilling consumables, painting and decorating and manual handling, as well as ensuring the site is in a good condition for all to work and learn effectively.

The role will include, but is not limited to:

• Locking up and securing school site in accordance with procedure. At times there may be a requirement to open the school for 6am-
• Liaising with contractors and external maintenance staff - Assist with setting up and clearing rooms for assemblies, meetings, events and other school activities.
• Monitor heating, lighting, water and other building services and report problems as necessary.
• Maintain appropriate records of maintenance and premises-related activities, identifying and reporting any faults as required
• General maintenance and repairs of both indoor and outdoor areas
• Carry out basic gardening and seasonal maintenance.
• Support the school in maintaining a safe environment for pupils, staff, visitors and contractors in line with procedure and report any issues as required

Person Specification

Essential:

• Practical skills and ability to carry out general repairs and maintenance
• Good understanding of Health and Safety
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively
• Ability to prioritise tasks and managing conflicting demands of time
• Commitment to safeguarding in line with school policies
• Able to work flexibly when required

Desirable:

• Experience in general maintenance e.g. plumbing, carpentry
• IT literate
• Experience with working in a school
