Job summary

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is seeking staff to support patient care in a ward setting. You will administer medicines, promote a clean environment and respond promptly to issues affecting patients and carers, following complaints procedures where appropriate.

You will identify and report incidents, assist in maintaining the smooth running of the clinical area, ensure policy compliance, and work with the ward team to provide compassionate care while upholding

• Administer medicines in accordance with Trust policy.
• Promote a clean environment and prevent hospital acquired infection.
• Respond promptly to resolve problems for patients/carers using complaints procedures and PALs where appropriate.
• Identify, record and report incidents/complaints involving staff, patients and visitors in accordance with Trust policies.
• Assist with the smooth running of the clinical area by unpacking stores, tidying and cleaning equipment.
• Ensure nursing/HCPC practice complies with Trust policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate politeness, courtesy and sensitivity in providing compassionate care to patients and visitors.
• Promote a positive image of University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust.
• Work cohesively with the ward team and liaise with the multi-disciplinary team to provide the best services to patients.
• Maintain confidentiality with patients and colleagues.

Job description

Administer medicines in accordance with Trust policy. Promote a clean environment and the prevention of hospital acquired infection Respond positively and act promptly to resolve problems/issues for patients/carers, utilising complaints procedures and PALs where appropriate. Identify record and report all incidents/complaints involving staff, patients and visitors in accordance with UHBW NHS Foundation Trust policies and assist in any investigations as required. Assist with the smooth running of the clinical area by carrying out other duties such as unpacking stores, tidying and cleaning up equipment. Ensure that the nursing/HCPC practice of the area comply with the Trusts nursing/HCPC policies and procedures. Demonstrate politeness, courtesy and sensitivity in providing compassionate care for patients, visitors/relatives and colleagues. Contribute towards sharing good practice within the ward/department and Trust wide. Promote a positive image of University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust at all times. Work cohesively with all members of the ward team and promote effective liaison with all members of the multi-disciplinary team in ensuring that the very best services to patients are provided at all times.
