Job summary

Bennett Memorial Diocesan School in Tunbridge Wells is seeking an Exam Invigilator to support examination venues during term periods. You will help set up venues, supervise candidates, and ensure fair, orderly conduct under JCQ rules. Full training will be provided.

The role is paid at £12.71 per hour plus holiday pay, start date October 2026, with work as required during examination periods. A positive school ethos and strong safeguarding commitments underpin the role.

Responsibilities

• To conduct examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) and awarding bodies
• To assist with invigilation for the internal trial exams taking place in November 2026/January 2027 and also the Summer Exam season May/June 2027
• Acting as a reader or scribe for an examination (full training will be given)
• Assisting candidates prior to the start of the examination by directing them to their seats and advising them about possessions permitted in examination venues
• Ensuring that candidates do not talk once inside the examination venues
• Being vigilant and supervising students at all times
• At the end of the exam, collecting, collating and delivering scripts to the Exams Office in accordance with regulations and procedures
• An opportunity to become a room supervisor
