Job summary

Angard Staffing is recruiting for Mail Sorters at Truro Mail Centre on night shifts only. You will unload mail and parcels, sort by postcode, and move items through the warehouse to meet tight deadlines. Shifts run 22:00–05:00 with durations of 4–6 hours, potentially up to 12 hours.

Flexibility across shift patterns and weekends is expected. Lifting up to 11 kg and pushing trolleys up to 250 kg may be required.

Mail Sorters with Royal Mail

Whether you're looking to gain experience or take on a new challenge, this is your chance to be part of a team that helps keep the country moving.

Shifts are available any day of the week, from Monday to Sunday, and vary depending on operational needs.

All shifts are a minimum of 4 hours, with the potential to extend up to 12 hours.

We operate across three main shift patterns:

Early Shifts:

Typically start between 05:00 and 14:00.

Late Shifts:

Typically start between14:00 to 22:00.

Night Shifts:

Typically start between22:00 to 05:00.

Please note that shift times may vary slightly by location and role. Flexibility is essential, and candidates should be prepared to work across different shift patterns, including weekends, where required.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Mail Sorter, you'll be at the heart of our operations:

Unloading mail and parcels

Sorting items by postcode and moving them through the warehouse

Working efficiently to meet tight deadlines - some teams sort over a million items in a single shift!

You'll also be expected to handle election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.

What We're Looking For

You don't need to have worked for us before (we love new people!), but experience in warehouse or sorting work is a plus.

Enjoys working in a fast-paced setting

Is flexible and comfortable switching between tasks

Can push trolleys up to 250kg and lift mail bags up to 11kg

Can stand for long periods during shifts

Pay & Shifts

The table below outlines the pay rates applicable for Mail Sorter roles within our Mail Centres and Parcel Hubs. The rates displayed are payable for the entirety of your shift where the shift description criteria is met.

Rates could be subject to change during busy periods, Angard staffing will communicate any change to your pay rates in advance.

Day Shift:

Starts and finishes between 05:31-19:59. Pay rate is £13.69 per hour.

Dawn Shift:

Starts between 02:01-04:00. Pay rate is £14.61 per hour.

Early 05:00:

Starts between 04:01-05:00. Pay rate is £14.17 per hour.

Early 05:30:

Starts between 05:01-05:30. Pay rate is £13.93 per hour.

Evening:

Finishes between 20:00-21:39. Pay rate is £14.38 per hour.

Lates:

Finishes between 21:40-01:59. Pay rate is £15.14 per hour.

Nights:

Three hours across 23:00-05:00. Pay rate is £16.44 per hour.

Please Note: This vacancy is for

night shifts only. Shifts can start at any time between

22:00 and 02:00 and are typically between

4 and 6 hours in duration, depending on operational requirements. Candidates must be available and willing to work during these hours.
