Job summary

Angard Staffing is hiring flexible temporary Mail & Parcel Sorters to support Royal Mail during the Christmas period in Northampton. You’ll unload mail and parcels, sort by postcode, and move items through the warehouse in a high-energy environment.

No prior experience needed; training provided. Shifts include Morning 06:00-14:00 (£15.14/hr), Afternoon 14:00-22:00 (£15.14/hr), Night 22:00-06:00 (£16.44/hr). Assignments end when the site closes for Christmas, around 18 December 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse or sorting work is a plus.
• Ability to lift mail bags up to 11kg, parcels up to 30kg, and push heavy loads.
• Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
• Flexible with good attention to detail.
• Training provided; no previous experience required.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Mail & Parcel Sorter, you’ll be at the heart of our operations:

• Unloading mail and parcels
• Sorting items by postcode and moving them through the warehouse
• Working efficiently to meet tight deadlines – some teams sort over a million items in a single shift!

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need to have worked for us before (we love new people!), but experience in warehouse or sorting work is a plus.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Enjoys working in a fast-paced setting
• Able to lift mail bags up to 11kg, parcels up to 30kg, and push trolleys/yorks up to 250kg
• Comfortable standing and walking for long periods
• Reliable and flexible with good attention to detail
• No previous experience needed – training provided
• Comfortable switching between tasks

Pay & Shifts

The table below outlines the pay rates applicable for Mail Sorter roles within our Mail Centres and Parcel Hubs. The rates displayed are payable for the entirety of your shift where the shift description criteria is met. Rates may be subject to change during busy periods. Angard Staffing will communicate any change to your pay rates in advance. Typical shift patterns and pay:

• Morning Shift: 06:00-14:00 – £15.14
• Afternoon Shift: 14:00-22:00 – £15.14
• Night Shift: 22:00-06:00 – £16.44

Important Information

This role is for the Christmas period. Assignments are temporary and will automatically end when the site closes for the Christmas season. The anticipated closing date is 18th December 2026, although this may be subject to change.
