Qualifications

Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-run accident repair centre located in Swanwick. The role of Vehicle Damage Assessor is fundamental to their operation, and they are seeking a highly skilled professional to join their friendly team. The Vehicle Damage Assessor will be responsible for inspecting damaged vehicles, preparing detailed estimates using Audatex, liaising with customers and insurance companies, and creating job cards for the bodyshop. This Vehicle Damage Assessor role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a reputable independent bodyshop committed to high standards and customer satisfaction.

• Up to £45,000 basic salary, with potential bonus
• Monday to Friday working week with flexible start times between 06:00 and 17:30

Duties

• Conduct vehicle inspections, mainly via supplied images or on-site assessments
• Assess the extent of damage, repair costs, and repair timeframes
• Prepare accurate estimates and maintain detailed records as the Vehicle Damage Assessor
• Liaise with insurance companies to obtain repair authorisation
• Communicate repair methodologies effectively with customers, engineers, and technicians
• Ensure all work complies with the highest technical and quality standards
• Produce job cards and allocate work to the bodyshop team

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or ATA qualification in vehicle damage assessment
• Proven experience with Audatex; Autoflow experience is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively as the Vehicle Damage Assessor
• Full UK/EU driving licence
• Solid Bodyshop background and a keen focus on delivering excellent customer service
• Ability to understand and explain repair processes clearly and professionally
