Job summary

UKCIL is seeking a Male Support Worker/Care Assistant to help a 34-year-old gentleman with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in the Stourbridge area live an active and independent life. The role requires a full UK driving license and involves personal care, meal preparation, domestic tasks, and community outings, with flexible day and night shifts available.

Training will be provided; experience with vent support is preferred as the client uses a ventilator 24/7.

Qualifications

• Hold at least NVQ Level 3 in care; Level 2 may be considered depending on work experience.
• Have an updated CRB.
• Have a full UK Driving license; able to drive the van.
• Have manual handling training and experience.
• Self-employed with a valid UTR number.

Responsibilities

• Assist with washing, dressing and personal care.
• Support active and independent living in the community.
• Help with day-to-day tasks and managing appointments.
• Assist with organizing documents and managing appointments.
• Provide meal preparation and domestic care.
• Support social and leisure activities.
• Safe administration of medication; PEG feeding.

I am looking to recruit a Male Support Worker/Care Assistant to assist me to live an active and independent life as I suffer from a physical disability. also Im on a ventilator 24/7 so have to be proactive as I cannot breathe without it so need to have Experience working with vents. I have full mental capacity to make all decisions that need to be made. There are full time and part time roles available, with varying times so flexibility is a must. Night and Day shifts available.

Key Responsibilities for this role include:

• Offering assistance with physical tasks including washing, dressing and all aspects of personal care.
• Assisting me out and about within the community.
• Assisting with day to day tasks enabling me to live independently.
• Help me with my work like organising files and managing my appointments etc.

Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that the candidate is able to demonstrate:

• A patient and understanding attitude.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and able to build rapport effectively.
• Be motivated and able to work under their own initiative.
• Compassion and have a non-judgmental outlook.
• Responsible mature attitude.
• Excellent punctuality.

Also be committed while on shift and be punctual on shift and not be on Mobile phones while on shift only use mobile phones on Break and try to cover shifts when needed and only take days off if shifts are covered or it's essential to take days off.

Experience is preferred although not essential, as training will be provided. Candidates must have good communication skills, be flexible and have a positive attitude. you will get Minimum of 16 hours more hours available if you can prove your capable to provide Excellent care
