Job summary

Jordan Wright in Hastings, East Sussex is seeking Personal Assistants to support a 30-year-old man with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. You will provide 2-to-1 care, assist with personal care, medical needs, daily activities and outings, and work as part of a two-person team.

am a 30-year-old physically disabled man with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, living in Hastings, East Sussex. I am looking for reliable, caring and compassionate Personal Assistants (PAs) to join my care team.

I require 2-to-1 care, and the role involves supporting me with my personal care, medical needs, daily activities and outings.

The role

• Transfers, positioning and mobility
• Assistance with day-to-day activities
• Supporting me to access the community and attend outings
• Cough assist
• Working as part of a 2-to-1 care team
• Maintaining a safe, comfortable and respectful environment

You do not need to have experience with all of the medical tasks listed above. Full training will be provided. However, you must be willing to learn, follow instructions carefully and become confident in carrying out these tasks safely.

• A full, clean UK driving licence
• Preferably previous experience working in care or a similar support role
• Willing and able to undertake training in complex care and medical procedures
• Able to work as part of a 2-to-1 team
• Able to follow care plans and instructions accurately
• Respectful of privacy, dignity and personal choice
