Job summary

Cornerstone Healthcare Group is seeking a compassionate Housekeeping Assistant/ Cleaner for our 63-bed care home. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, welcoming environment across all resident areas, with duties including cleaning communal spaces and residents' rooms, while upholding strict health and safety standards.

We value respect, openness, care and kindness, and offer training and benefits. Shift pattern includes a mix of mornings across Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun, with overtime

Qualifications

  • 6 months minimum experience in a housekeeping/cleaning position (essential)
  • Familiarisation with care homes (desirable)
  • A passion for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness and presentation
  • A friendly and proactive approach with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, their families, and your colleagues
  • Confident communication skills – both written and verbal

Responsibilities

  • Create a clean, welcoming environment for residents
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home
  • Clean and care for communal areas and residents' rooms (vacuuming, polishing, mopping)
  • Receive training on health and safety protocols and safe use of cleaning products/equipment
  • Ensure housekeeping supplies are clean, stocked, and ready for use
  • Provide warm presence and attention to detail to residents and families

Are you a compassionate and reliable Housekeeping Assistant/ Cleaner looking to make a genuine difference in people’s lives? Kitnocks House is looking for dedicated individuals with at least one year’s experience within a care home setting to join our award-winning team.

Our 63-bed home is made up of four specialised units, each providing high-quality, person-centred care for residents living with complex needs, including dementia, mental health conditions, or other neurological disorders. Your Working Pattern
  • Monday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday – 08:00 to 18:00
  • Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday – 08:00 to 18:00
What You’ll Bring

What You’ll Be Doing
  • As a valued member of our housekeeping team, you’ll play a key role in creating a clean, welcoming, and comfortable environment for our residents.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the home
  • Cleaning and caring for all communal areas and residents’ rooms – including vacuuming, polishing, and mopping
  • Receive training on health and safety protocols, including the safe use of cleaning products and equipment
  • Ensuring all housekeeping supplies are clean, stocked, and ready for use
  • While you won’t be delivering hands-on care, your warm presence and attention to detail will help ensure our residents feel respected, comfortable, and uplifted throughout your time with them.
