Job summary

Thorp Academy in Ryton, part of the Northern Education Trust, seeks an enthusiastic Teacher to join the Inclusion Centre, teaching mainly Maths and Science.

You will monitor progress, encourage high attainment, manage behaviour, and contribute to school improvement. The post is permanent, full-time, with opportunities across NET family of schools.

Qualifications

• A teaching qualification together with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience of teaching, learning and assessment to at least KS3/4, preferably KS5.
• A good understanding of curriculum developments.
• Able to use a range of teaching and learning strategies.
• Commitment to high standards in all aspects of the academy’s work.
• Understanding of Assessment for Learning to improve student performance and embed this within your department.
• Confidence with standard computer packages to enhance learning.
• Able to use student data to raise standards.
• Enthusiasm for the subject.
• Creative problem solving and willingness to try new ideas.
• Ability to relate to students pleasantly and recognise safeguarding considerations.
• Clear oral and written communication to students and parents.

Thorp Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Teacher to teach mainly Maths and Science in our Inclusion Centre.

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who is able to inspire and motivate our young people to fulfil their potential, demonstrating the drive and skill to raise standards of students' attainment and achievement. They will:
