Job summary

Sodexo Ltd is seeking a Food Service Assistant at Hillmorton Primary School in Rugby. You will support the day‑to‑day food service operations, help with preparation, serving and keeping kitchens and dining areas clean and safe.

This role is term-time only – 39 weeks – permanent and part‑time, 16.25 hours per week, paid at £12.71 per hour. Training is provided, you’ll join a friendly team, and you’ll benefit from a supportive working environment and allowances.

Qualifications

• Previous catering or food service experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills are important.
• Good organisation and attention to detail are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and serving of food and beverages.
• Maintain clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen and dining areas.
• Replenish food displays and service counters as required.
• Support deliveries and store supplies appropriately.
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures.

About the Role

As a

Food Service Assistant, you’ll support the day-to-day running of a busy food service operation. From preparing and serving food to keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean and organised, you’ll help ensure everything runs smoothly.

You’ll work as part of a supportive team delivering great service while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

Additional Information

Term Time Only – Equated Pay

This role works 38 weeks per year. Your salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments across 12 months, meaning you receive consistent pay throughout the year, including during school closure periods.
