Job summary

BCT Resourcing is seeking a Vehicle Technician to join a successful independent automotive group. You will maintain stock vehicles, perform health checks, servicing and MOTs where qualified, and prepare used stock for retail.

Role suits qualified MOT testers or experienced Level 2/3 technicians in a busy retail site. The position offers a five-day week on a rota including weekends, with modern workshop facilities, uniform, onsite parking, staff benefits, and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Vehicle Technician qualification preferred (Level 2 with experience).
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Service Technician or Prep Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle health checks on used vehicle stock.
• Complete pre-sale inspections and quality checks.
• Service and routine vehicle maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults.
• Replace wear-and-tear items including brakes, batteries, suspension and other service components.
• Carry out MOT tests where qualified.
• Prepare used vehicles to retail standard, including PDI and vehicle preparation work when workload allows.
• Complete final quality inspections before customer collection.
• Work closely with the sales team to ensure vehicles are ready for handover.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

£38,640 - £48,760 Basic Salary (Depending on Experience & Qualifications)

5 Days Per Week on a Rota (Including Weekend Cover) | 8:30am - 5:30pm

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Vehicle Technician to join a successful and growing independent automotive group.

Working directly from a busy retail sales site, you'll be responsible for ensuring stock vehicles are maintained to the highest standards. Your role will include carrying out vehicle health checks, servicing, repairs, MOT testing (where qualified), final inspections and, when time allows, preparing used vehicle stock to retail standard.

We're particularly keen to hear from qualified MOT Testers, although experienced Level 3 Vehicle Technicians (or experienced Level 2 Technicians) will also be considered.

The Role

As a Vehicle Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring every vehicle meets the company's high preparation and retail standards before being offered for sale or handed over to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out vehicle health checks on used vehicle stock

About You

• Level 3 Vehicle Technician qualification preferred (Level 2 considered with relevant experience)
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Service Technician or Prep Technician
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
• Able to work independently and manage your own workload
• Positive, proactive attitude with good organisational skills
• Full UK Driving Licence
