Job summary

Victim Support is seeking Independent Sexual Violence Advisors to deliver 1-2-1 support across Lancashire and at criminal justice locations. Roles include 37.5 or 30 hours per week with potential hybrid working up to 2 days from home.

A driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential due to frequent travel, with a commitment to safeguarding and victim-centred practice. Two ISVAs will join a dedicated Sexual Violence team, focused on supporting children and young people affected by abuse.

• Deliver one-to-one interventions that promote emotional wellbeing, resilience and recovery.
• Work closely with criminal justice process agencies and other partners to ensure victims are heard.
• Proactively promote the service and improve access to support for all victims of sexual violence.
• Follow safeguarding policies and work with safeguarding leads to address concerns.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity to join the team the Sexual Violence team as an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor. As an ISVA you will deliver 1-2-1 support to clients in the community across Lancashire and at criminal justice locations.

We are looking for two dedicated and compassionate Independent Sexual Violence Advisors working 37.5 hours or 30 hours per week during term-time across Lancashire, to provide specialist support to children and young people affected by domestic abuse. Please express a preference for hours in your application. The role is also offered with the opportunity to apply for hybrid working with up to 2 days working from home.

You must have a driving licence, access to a car for work and be resident in Lancashire due to the need for frequent travel across the area.

About the Role

As a Independent Sexual Violence you will:

• Complete risk and needs assessments to address the specific needs of victims in line with VS operating procedures.
• Deliver one‑to‑one interventions that promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and recovery.
• Work closely with criminal justice process agencies and other partners to ensures that each victim is heard and their needs are prioritised.
• Proactively promote the service, raising awareness of services & working collaboratively with professionals to improve the access to and quality of services for all victims of sexual violence, abuse or exploitation
• Follow relevant safeguarding policies and procedures, working with safeguarding leads and other agencies to ensure an integrated approach to address any safeguarding concerns.

This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement.
