Royal Mail is recruiting a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Pontypool. This fixed-term role runs for 6 months, with a 30-hour week across a rotating shift including some Sundays, delivering letters and parcels by van or on foot in the local area.

You’ll receive full training, a uniform, and a Royal Mail van. A full manual UK driving licence (max 6 points), fitness for walking distances, and reliability are essential.

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.Working hours: 30hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work one in three Sundays.

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
