Job summary

Civil Operatives / Groundworkers are needed for a major 400kV substation project in Pembroke. Location: Pembroke 400kV Substation. Rate: £28 per hour. Type: Temporary Contract. Hours: 07:30-17:30, Monday-Friday. Positions: 2.

The successful candidates will support civils and groundworks, focusing on drainage, ducting, excavation, concrete works and reinstatement on site.

Qualifications

• HSG47 / Safe Digging - 2 Day qualification is ESSENTIAL.
• Previous experience as Groundworker / Civil Operative on utilities/substation projects.
• Full PPE available before starting on site.

Location: Pembroke 400kV Substation, Pembroke

Rate: £28 per hour

Hours: 07:30-17:30, Monday-Friday

The Role:

We are currently recruiting for 2 experienced Civil Operatives / Groundworkers to work on a major 400kV substation project in Pembroke.

The successful candidates will support a range of civils and groundworks activities across the substation site, with a strong focus on drainage, ducting, excavation, concrete works and reinstatement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation of surface water, foul water and oily water drainage.
• Installation of LV ducting and draw pits.
• Installation of HV ducting.
• Installation of LV and HV precast troughing.
• Excavation and installation of blinding.
• Placement of concrete for foundations.
• Backfilling and compaction of excavations.
• Carrying out hand excavations and safe digging around existing services.
• General groundworks and civil construction duties as required.
• Working safely in accordance with site procedures and HSG47 requirements.
• Manual handling and general site duties.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Groundworker / Civil Operative, preferably on utilities, energy or substation projects.
• HSG47 / Safe Digging - 2 Day qualification is ESSENTIAL.
• Experience with excavation and groundworks.
• Ability to undertake drainage, ducting and reinstatement works.
• Full PPE must be available before starting on site.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.
• Ability to work as part of a site team and assist with general groundworks when required.
