Job summary

Welcome to BaxterStorey. We are seeking a reliable Food Service Assistant to join our area support team across Durham and the wider North East. You will help maintain service standards, food safety, and guest satisfaction across multiple sites.

The role requires a valid driving license and access to your own transport, with shifts including weekends and evenings as needed. You will work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth operations and excellent hospitality.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food service, catering, or hospitality environments
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
  • Strong people skills and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers
  • Excellent time keeping and reliability
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitisation of food preparation areas, equipment, and serving stations in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Assist with stock management, including receiving, storing, and rotating food items appropriately
  • Support the setup and breakdown of dining areas and service stations
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service, responding to queries and requests with professionalism
  • Operate till systems and process payments accurately
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service operations
  • Monitor and report on food stock levels and equipment maintenance requirements
  • Adhere to all health and safety protocols and company policies
  • Support area-wide initiatives and cover shifts across multiple locations as required

Location: Multiple Locations across the North East

Detail: Working Five Days out of Seven with a flexible approach to meet the business needs that will include Weekends and Evenings when required

Salary: £13.40 per hour plus mileage allowance

Due to the role covering the North East Region your own car is essential
