Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a skilled Injection Moulding Technician to join a busy shop floor in Newport. You will carry out mould tool changes, set process parameters and ensure quality components while maintaining health and safety standards.

Hours are Monday to Friday 7:30am–5:00pm with overtime; an on‑call rota after training applies. You will work with automation and robots (six‑axis) and an overhead gantry, with at least 3 years in a similar role and eligibility to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience in a similar injection moulding role.
• Strong knowledge of moulding processes and automation.
• Able to troubleshoot on the shop floor and optimise runs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mould tool changes as per daily schedule (avg 5-8 per day).
• Process and adjust conditions to produce quality components.
• Complete settings paperwork and use overhead gantry.
• Operate six-axis robots and support automation on the line.
• Maintain health and safety procedures and keep the area clean and safe.
• Handle heavy tooling and assist with tool changes.

Hours of work will be Monday - Friday 7:30am - 5.00pm with flexibility to meet demands with overtime paid.

There is an on-call rota after the initial 3-month training - 1 in every 5 weekends and paid even if not called!

You will be working as part of a

technical team in a busy and fast paced injection moulding shop floor environment, responsiblr for

16 injection moulding machines .

Day to day you will be:

Carrying out mould tool changes as per daily schedule (avg 5-8 tool changes per day)

Process and adapt conditions to produce quality approved components

Complete settings paperwork

Use of overhead gantry

Use of robots to include six axis robots

Responsible for Health and Safety procedures while setting the machines

Ensuring and assisting in always maintaining a clean and safe working environment

Handling of heavy and expensive tooling

You will need to be:

Competent in process knowledge

Have a good understanding of automation and process

Used to technical trouble shooting.

Have at least 3 years experience in a similar role
