Job summary

Reed in Partnership in the North East is seeking a Progression Coach to manage a caseload and provide personalised support to help participants progress towards employment. You will deliver coaching, assessments, and employability training, building strong links with partners and employers.

The role involves travel across the North East, flexible hours, and involvement with the Confident Futures programme funded by the DWP.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a customer-facing environment.
  • Experience supporting individuals facing barriers to employment.
  • Experience working in a target-driven environment.
  • Minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 qualification.
  • GCSE English Language Grade B or Level 2 Literacy at interview stage.
  • Passion for supporting people to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Strong communication, coaching and relationship-building skills.
  • Good administration, IT and record-keeping skills.
  • Knowledge of disabilities, health conditions and related barriers.
  • Willingness to travel locally and work flexibly when required.
  • Ability to motivate diverse participants.
  • Experience in employability, welfare-to-work, recruitment or guidance services.
  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Advice & Guidance or equivalent.

Responsibilities

About the Programme

The Confident Futures programme, funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), supports Universal Credit claimants with long-term health conditions. Through tailored support, coaching and training, we help participants build confidence, improve wellbeing, develop skills and move closer to employment.

What is the role about?

As a Progression Coach, you will manage a caseload of participants, providing personalised support to help them overcome barriers and progress towards sustainable employment. You will deliver coaching, assessments, employability training and ongoing support while building strong relationships with local partners and employers.

Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Participant Engagement & Support
  • Attract, register and support participants throughout their journey.
  • Conduct assessments to identify aspirations, strengths and barriers.
  • Create action plans and provide one-to-one coaching and guidance.
  • Support participants with health, wellbeing and employability needs.
Partnership & Employer Engagement
  • Develop relationships with Jobcentre Plus, employers and community partners.
  • Promote Reed in Partnership services and opportunities.
  • Source volunteering, work experience and employment opportunities.
Training & Progression
  • Deliver employability workshops and training sessions.
  • Adapt delivery to meet a range of learning styles and support needs.
  • Provide in-work support to help participants sustain employment.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with:

  • Additional community language skills.
