Job summary

Serco Limited is seeking a part-time Cleaner at Soar Valley Leisure Centre in Mountsorrel (LE12 7FG). The role covers 16 hours per week with shifts Monday 12pm–4pm and Tuesday–Friday 1pm–4pm, aiming to keep the facility clean, welcoming and safe for visitors.

The position offers an hourly rate of £10.85 to £12.71 plus benefits such as gym access, DBS checks, and training opportunities. You will join a friendly team committed to health, safety and excellent service.

Qualifications

• Experience in a cleaning role or the ability to demonstrate the skills required to succeed in this position.
• Good communication skills and a positive, customer-focused approach.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high standard of cleaning throughout the building at all times.
• Carry out cleaning duties safely, following all health and safety procedures and COSHH requirements.
• Follow cleaning schedules and complete all required checklists accurately.
• Report any cleaning issues, maintenance concerns, or areas requiring attention to the appropriate manager.
• Monitor cleaning stock levels and notify the line manager when replenishment is needed.

What you’ll do as a Cleaner

• Maintain a high standard of cleaning throughout the building at all times
• Carry out cleaning duties safely, following all health and safety procedures and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) requirements
• Follow cleaning schedules and complete all required checklists accurately
• Report any cleaning issues, maintenance concerns, or areas requiring attention to the appropriate manager
• Monitor cleaning stock levels and notify the line manager when replenishment is needed
• Inspect, use, clean, and store cleaning equipment safely, while contributing to good housekeeping and sustainability practices
