GCIL North Lanarkshire is seeking a Personal Assistant to support a 13-year-old girl in the Motherwell area. The role focuses on enabling her independence, confidence and social time through outings and activities that she enjoys, with input and full training from the family.

The PA will drive a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, assist with mobility, and ensure safety during travel. The position is part-time with regular monthly hours and some additional hours during school holidays.

Qualifications

  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Be confident driving a manual wheelchair vehicle.
  • Be part of or willing to join PVG scheme.
  • The role guarantees 8 hours per month, with potential additional hours during school holidays when required.
  • Typical working pattern includes one Friday evening each month from 6.00 pm to 8.30 pm for youth club, every second Saturday or occasional Sundays from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Support the young person to take part in community activities and outings, encouraging independence and social engagement.
  • Drive the family’s wheelchair-accessible vehicle and safely secure the manual wheelchair for travel.
  • Provide friendly, attentive company and be dependable, positive, and patient.

Personal Assistant / Social Care ref: GL/AW- 26 (GCIL North Lanarkshire)

We are looking for a warm, reliable Personal Assistant to spend time with a fun-loving, chatty 13-year-old girl in the Motherwell area. This is a rewarding opportunity to support her to enjoy more independence, confidence and choice while having fun together.

She enjoys getting out and about, especially visiting Summerlee Park, going to coffee shops and the cinema, and attending her Friday youth club. Time with her PA should feel relaxed, sociable and shaped around the places and activities she enjoys.

In this role, you will support her to take part in community activities and outings, encourage her independence and provide friendly, attentive company. You will also drive the family’s wheelchair-accessible vehicle and safely secure the manual wheelchair for travel using the fitted straps. The family will provide full training.

About You

A great match will be outgoing, chatty and proactive, as well as a good listener who takes time to understand her preferences and follow her lead. Previous experience is not essential, but you should be dependable, positive, patient and willing to learn.

You must:

  • Hold a full UK driving licence

Pay

£14.00 per hour
