Job summary

St Marys Care Home is seeking an experienced supervisor to allocate duties and oversee staff daily to ensure the safe running of the home. You will administer residents' prescribed medication safely and in line with policies.

You will liaise with the Multi Disciplinary Team, supervise staff, maintain records and ensure care plans are up to date. This role requires working towards the necessary qualifications and adherence to SSSC Codes of Practice.

Qualifications

• Experience in adult care settings and medication administration.
• Ability to supervise staff and conduct appraisals.
• Familiar with SSSC Codes of Practice.

Responsibilities

• Allocate duties and supervise staff daily to ensure safe operation of the home.
• Administer residents' prescribed medication safely and according to policy.
• Ensure medication is ordered, stored, administered, and returned per policy.
• Liaise with the MDT for best practice for residents.
• Supervise staff and conduct appraisals.
• Maintain resident records and care plans up to date.
• Communicate with residents' families as required.
• Implement SSSC Codes of Practice and Health and Social Care Standards.
• Be prepared to work towards the necessary qualification.

To make sure medication is ordered, stored, administered, and returned as according to Medication Policies.

To liaise with Multi Disciplinary Team for the best practice for our Residents.

To supervise staff to ensure duties are carried out accordingly.

Maintain records as appropriate.

Ensure Residents Review/Care Plans are kept up to date.

To communicate with residents’ families as required.

To carry out supervision sessions and staff appraisals.

To implement SSSC Codes of Practice and Health and Social Care Standards.

To hold or be prepared to work towards the necessary qualification for the job role.
