Job summary

GCIL East Dunbartonshire is seeking a fun, caring and reliable person to provide motivational mentoring support for a 12-year-old boy in the Milngavie area. The role focuses on developing life skills, friendships and participation in social activities.

Flexible 8 hours per week with times to be discussed at interview. A driver with own vehicle is desirable, non-smoker, and PVG Scheme membership or update is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to motivate and mentor a 12-year-old boy.
• Must be reliable, non-smoker and have own transport preferred.
• PVG Scheme membership or update required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide motivational/mentoring support and assist in developing life-skills and social opportunities.
• Escort and participate in social/leisure activities (e.g., Scouts) with the boy.
• Support the boy in staying active, making friends, and trying new activities.

The young boy is friendly, funny and very chatty. he enjoys being active and loves swimming and dancing, being outdoors and exploring parks. Also enjoys baking and cooking and the perfect candidate will enjoy these activities and be able to engage with him.

To provide

Motivational / mentoring support, and assistance to develop friendships/social opportunities, life-skills and to participate in social/leisure activities such as escorting him to and from Scouts.

8 hours per week

Times are flexible and can be discussed at interview

Rate per hour: £15.00

PVG Scheme Membership or PVG Scheme Update required by the successful applicant.
