Job summary

Sodexo Ltd is seeking a part-time lunchtime assistant at Senacre Wood Primary School in Maidstone. The role runs Monday–Friday, 11:00am–2:00pm, 15 hours per week during term time (39 weeks per year) with permanent status. You will help serve meals, keep dining areas clean, and support the school’s lunchtime service.

You’ll work with a small team, delivering a welcoming service to pupils and staff, while maintaining high cleanliness and organisation standards throughout service periods.

Qualifications

• A positive and reliable attitude.

• Ability to work in a busy environment and prioritise tasks.
• Previous catering or food service experience is helpful but not essential; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages.
• Maintain clean, safe and hygienic kitchen and dining areas.
• Replenish food displays and service counters as required.
• Support deliveries and store supplies appropriately.
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures.
• Provide a friendly and helpful service to customers, colleagues or visitors.
• Complete final cleaning and close-down of the service area when required.

About the Role

Working alongside another team member, you’ll help

serve food to pupils, maintain the dining hall and ensure the kitchen and service areas are kept clean and organised. The food will be prepared at

St John’s and delivered to Senacre Wood Primary School, so your focus will be on providing an efficient and welcoming service to pupils and maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness throughout the school’s dining areas.

You’ll work as part of a small team and, once the food containers have been returned to St John’s, you may be required to

complete the final cleaning and close-down of the service area independently.

Additional Information

Term Time Only – Equated Pay

This role works 38 weeks per year.Your salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments across 12 months, meaning you receive consistent pay throughout the year, including during school closure periods.
