Job summary

Limehurst Academy is seeking a brilliant teacher of Science to deliver Science to the full age and ability range, including GCSE Separate and Combined Sciences. You will be part of the eight-person Science department led by the experienced Head of Science and will also be expected to be a form tutor.

This post is a crucial one to the school. We are looking for a brilliant teacher of Science, irrespective of your particular scientific discipline. You will deliver Science to the full age and ability range, including GCSE Separate and Combined Sciences. You will be part of the eight-person Science department, which is led by the experienced Head of Science. You will also be expected to be a form tutor. Time-management skills, patience and a good work ethic are essential, as are excellent interpersonal skills. Over 50% of our students achieved a Grade 5+ in English & Maths. 41% of our SEN students achieved a Grade 4+ in English & Maths. As has been the case for many years now, all of our headline measures are well above national averages. We are committed to improving yet again this academic year, and we are determined to do so. Our parents and the local community are extremely supportive of the school.

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
