Job summary

FJR currently seeks an experienced Commercial Plumber / Water Efficiency Technician to perform water-efficiency visits on behalf of our client. The role is full-time (40 hours per week) with a company van, smartphone, tools and uniform provided.

Tasks include installing water-saving devices, inspecting fixtures, recording survey data via a bespoke app, and advising customers on water efficiency. Driving licence and plumbing qualification are essential.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out water-efficiency visits at commercial and other non-household premises
• Assessing plumbing fixtures and fittings and installing water-saving devices
• Installing water-saving solutions to taps, showers and toilets
• Diagnosing and repairing leaking toilets
• Installing or replacing urinal controls where required
• Carrying out minor plumbing repairs
• Measuring water flow rates and checking for leaks
• Taking and recording water meter readings
• Recording information using a bespoke app
• Providing customers with practical water-efficiency advice
• Explaining findings and completed work clearly to customers
• Managing a daily schedule of appointments and working independently
• Delivering excellent customer service at all times

Carrying out water-efficiency visits at commercial and other non-household premises

Assessing plumbing fixtures and fittings and installing appropriate water-saving devices

Installing water-saving solutions to taps, showers and toilets

Diagnosing and repairing leaking toilets

Installing or replacing urinal controls where required

Carrying out minor plumbing repairs

Measuring water flow rates and checking for evidence of leaks

Taking and recording water meter readings

Recording accurate survey, installation and customer information using a bespoke app

Providing customers with practical water-efficiency advice

Clearly explaining findings and completed work to customers in a professional manner

Managing a daily schedule of pre-arranged appointments and working independently

Providing an excellent level of customer service at all times

City & Guilds Level 2 / NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing or equivalent (Essential)

Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)

Good standard of Maths and English

National Water Hygiene "Blue Card" advantageous; training can be provided

Previous plumbing experience and confidence carrying out minor plumbing repairs

Good communication skills with a professional and customer-focused approach

Ability to work independently and manage a daily schedule

Good attention to detail with the ability to record information accurately

Comfortable using a smartphone or app to record job and customer information
