Job summary

Young Devon is seeking a part-time Housing Support Worker for Ilfracombe to work 14 hours weekly (Mon & Tue). You will work alone with young people aged 16-25, helping with benefits, finances, health, accommodation, education and employment, using a person-centred approach to support goals and aspirations.

The role also involves health and safety checks and on-call support from management; closing date 26 October 2026 and interviews 3 November 2026. Salary £25,247 pro rata.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people (16-25) with housing needs.
• Ability to work independently and in a lone-working setting.
• Strong communication and person-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Support young people with accessing benefits, finances, health and wellbeing.
• Assist with finding education, employment or training opportunities.
• Provide sign‑posting for additional needs and build goal‑oriented plans.

Permanent contract - Based in Ilfracombe

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, conscientious person to join our Supported Housing team in our Ilfracombe project.

You will be lone working with young people (aged 16-25) who have a range of support and housing needs. Providing a holistic service assisting with accessing benefits, managing finances, health and wellbeing, maintaining accommodation, accessing education, employment or training. In addition to this you will sometimes give further support and sign‑posting for additional needs. You will need to take a creative approach to support, adapting your style of communication with each individual to provide a person‑centred approach to help the young people establish and work towards their goals and aspirations.

You will also take an active role in the management and oversight of the buildings undertaking health and safety checks.

This post has on‑call support from management.
