Job summary

Young Devon is seeking a Sleep-In Housing Support Worker in Ivybridge to work with young people aged 16-25 in a supported housing setting. You will operate on a sleep-in basis, typically two shifts per week, contributing to a holistic support service focused on housing and wellbeing.

You will be lone working, carrying out safety checks, offering sign-posting for additional needs, and supporting guests in accessing education, benefits and employment opportunities, with a person-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Lone working with young people aged 16-25 to provide person-centred support
• Assist with accessing benefits, managing finances, health and wellbeing
• Maintain accommodation, support access to education, employment or training
• Provide sign-posting for additional needs and adapt communication to individual
• Undertake health and safety checks and contribute to building management
• On-call support from management when required

2 Sleep-In Shifts per week - Friday and Saturday nights (7:30pm to 9:30am)

Permanent Contract - Based in Ivybridge - £132.28 per shift

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, conscientious person to join our Supported Housing team in our Ivybridge project.

You will be lone working with young people (aged 16-25) who have a range of support and housing needs. Providing a holistic service assisting with accessing benefits, managing finances, health and wellbeing, maintaining accommodation, accessing education, employment or training. In addition to this you will sometimes give further support and sign-posting for additional needs. You will need to take a creative approach to support, adapting your style of communication with each individual to provide a person-centred approach to help the young people establish and work towards their goals and aspirations.

You will also take an active role in the management and oversight of the buildings undertaking health and safety checks.

This post has on-call support from management.
