Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd. seeks a dedicated HGV Driver to operate refrigerated 3.5–18T vehicles across West Wales, delivering milk cages to retail stores from Swansea to the region.

You will unload, secure loads, and maintain accurate daily records while ensuring top-notch customer service at each stop. The role requires a UK Class 2 licence, DCPC, and a Digital Tachograph Card, with training provided for multi-drop routes and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Holder of UK Class 2 (C) Licence with refrigerated vehicle experience.
• Current DCPC and Digital Tachograph Card are essential.
• Multi-drop delivery experience is preferred but training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate refrigerated 3.5–18T vehicles with tail lift for milk cage deliveries.
• Unload cages safely and place at store entrances for each drop.
• Complete up to 12 drops daily with accuracy and timeliness.
• Secure loads with straps and nets to prevent movement.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks using company phone.
• Maintain communication with transport team and customers.

Location: Haverfordwest

Shift: 5 days per week on a rota basis, between Monday and Saturday

About The Role

• Operate refrigerated vehicles ranging from 3.5T to 18T with use of a tail lift to make multi drop milk cage deliveries to retail stores throughout West Wales, from Swansea to
• Safely unload cages from the vehicle and move them to the store entrance at each delivery point, ensuring efficiency and proper handling.
• Complete up to 12 drops per day, maintaining accuracy and timeliness across all deliveries.
• Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
• Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

• You must hold a valid UK Class 2 (C) Licence, and be comfortable operating refrigerated vehicles ranging from 3.5 to 18 tonnes.
• A current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) and a Digital Tachograph Driver Card are essential to ensure compliance with legal and safety standards.
• Previous experience in multi-drop delivery is preferred, but not essential, as full training will be provided to get you up to speed.

• You'll need to be comfortable working to tight schedules, managing your time effectively to ensure deliveries are made promptly and safely.

• A good understanding of UK road networks, particularly across Wales and surrounding regions, will help you navigate routes efficiently and avoid delays.
