Randstad Education is seeking a committed full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs in a rural Hassocks school. The role runs Monday to Friday, 08:30–15:55, term-time, starting in September.
A driving licence is required due to limited public transport links. The ideal candidate has 3–6 months in a school setting or SEN/SEMH support, with transferable skills from care or youth work considered.
We are looking for a committed, full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to offer vital emotional, academic, and social guidance to pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, helping them fully engage with the curriculum and succeed across their education.

Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with diverse learning and behavioural needs.
Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
Help manage classroom behaviour gently and effectively, promoting emotional well-being.
Monitor and report on student progress, collaborating closely with teaching staff.
3-6 months of experience working in a school setting or supporting individuals with SEN/SEMH needs. Highly transferable skills from care, youth work, or similar backgrounds will also be considered.
Must be available for full-time hours for the entire academic year starting in September.
Must be a licensed driver with access to a vehicle due to the school's rural location and limited public transport links.
