Triumph Consultants Ltd is seeking a Homelessness Prevention Officer in Halifax to support households who are homeless or at risk. You will assess housing needs, provide practical advice and work with customers, landlords and partner agencies to help secure suitable accommodation.

The role requires knowledge of homelessness legislation and a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle. DBS clearance is required, and the contract runs for 1-2 months in HX1 1QE.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or equivalent.
• Experience supporting people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
• Knowledge of housing options and services available to homelessness cases.

Responsibilities

• Interview customers who are homeless or at risk and explain housing options clearly.
• Assess housing needs and develop Personalised Housing Plans ensuring statutory duties are met.
• Manage a caseload and carry out homelessness prevention work, including negotiations with landlords and agencies.
• Support customers to secure and sustain accommodation and prevent homelessness where possible.
• Build links with housing providers and partner agencies to improve outcomes.

Triumph Consultants are looking for a Homelessness Prevention Officer for their client to support households who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You will provide practical advice, assess housing needs and work with customers, landlords and partner agencies to help people secure and maintain suitable accommodation. Contract is for 1-2 months in Halifax, HX1 1QE.

Homelessness Prevention Officer

Pay Rate: £13.69 per hour PAYE

Enhanced DBS is required for this role.

Key requirements

• Knowledge of homelessness legislation, particularly Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
• Experience supporting people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to secure or maintain accommodation.
• Knowledge of housing options and services available to people facing homelessness..
• GCSE Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English, or equivalent experience.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Key responsibilities
