Job summary

An established Civil & Structural Engineering consultancy in Manchester is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its team. The role offers a varied workload across new-builds and refurbishments, with exposure to multiple sectors and a supportive environment for chartership.

You will work on structural design using steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber, producing calculations and design information, from concept to construction, while coordinating with technicians, architects and other

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience in a UK structural engineering consultancy.
• Understanding of UK design standards.
• Experience designing steel and reinforced concrete.

Responsibilities

An established and forward-thinking Civil & Structural Engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to join its Manchester team.

The consultancy provides civil and structural engineering services nationwide and works on a varied portfolio ranging from major new-build developments to complex renovation projects across sectors including residential, commercial, leisure, education, industrial, and theme parks.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Structural Engineer looking to take on a varied workload and develop their experience across different building types and sectors.

• Structural design of steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber structures


• Producing calculations, specifications and technical design information


• Working on projects from initial concept through to detailed design and construction


• Coordinating closely with technicians, architects and other engineering disciplines


• Attending design meetings and liaising with clients and contractors


• Supporting the delivery of projects while developing greater technical and project responsibility

What We’re Looking For

• Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering


• Previous experience within a UK structural engineering consultancy


• Good understanding of structural design principles and relevant UK design standards


• Experience designing common building materials including steel and reinforced concrete


• Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team


• Ambitious engineer looking to continue developing technically and professionally
