Job summary

The Engine Room Sports Bar at Ocean Exmouth is hiring Customer Service Assistants to join our casual team. You’ll welcome guests, take orders, and serve drinks and food, helping ensure smooth service on match days, family meals, and busy events.

No prior experience required—training is provided. A positive attitude, energy and willingness to get involved are valued. 18+ due to licensing; perks include gym access and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or hospitality preferred but not required.
• Barista experience or willingness to learn is desirable.
• Strong communication and people skills are essential.

Looking for a role where no two shifts are the same?

At The Engine Room Sports Bar, you'll be part of a vibrant team delivering great food, drinks, and experiences in one of Exmouth's most exciting venues. Whether it's a packed match day, a family meal, a catch-up with friends, or a relaxed drink by the sea, you'll help create an atmosphere that keeps people coming back.

Located within Ocean Exmouth on the beautiful seafront, The Engine Room combines live sport, great hospitality, and a welcoming community feel. We're looking for enthusiastic Customer Service Assistants to join our casual team and help us make every visit

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

This is a hands‑on role where you'll be at the heart of the customer experience.

You'll welcome guests with a smile, take food and drink orders, serve customers, and ensure every visit runs smoothly from arrival to departure. You'll help create a fun, friendly and welcoming environment while working closely with colleagues during busy services, events, and match days.

• Deliver excellent customer service with confidence and enthusiasm.
• Help customers choose from our food and drink menus.
• Prepare and serve drinks, including coffees and speciality beverages where required.
• Support the team during busy periods and special events.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene throughout the venue.
• Handle customer queries professionally and positively.
• Help ensure every guest leaves wanting to return.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for people who enjoy working with others, love providing great service, and thrive in a busy environment.

You don't need years of experience, we'll provide support and training. What matters most is your attitude, energy, and willingness to get involved.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Previous customer service or hospitality experience.
• Barista experience or an interest in learning.
• Strong communication and people skills.
• A positive and can‑do approach.
• The ability to stay calm and organised during busy periods.
• A flexible and reliable approach to work.
• A genuine passion for creating great customer experiences.

Due to licensing regulations, applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
