Job summary

Bupa is recruiting a Clinical Deputy Care Home Manager for the Aston on Trent home in Derbyshire. The role leads the care team to deliver person-centred care, with weekends on rota and a clear focus on upholding CQC standards.

You will oversee nursing care, develop electronic care plans, manage staffing levels, and mentor staff to maintain high-quality services for residents and their families. A strong leader with excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience of working as a Deputy Manager within a care home environment with a genuine commitment to adhering to CQC standards and expanding your professional development
  • An effective communicator who can build strong relationships with residents and families
  • A natural leader who can mentor a team, delegate effectively and promote customer service
  • Good time management and ability to prioritise workload
  • A respectful, compassionate team player with personal best
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge/experience in electronic care planning desirable

Responsibilities

  • Manage rotas to ensure adequate staffing
  • Provide day-to-day support and guidance to the team, promoting independence, choice and dignity

Job title: Clinical Deputy Care Home Manager

Location: Richmond Villages Aston On Trent, Richmond Drive, Off Maple Drive, Aston on Trent, Derbyshire, DE72 2EA

From £48,319 pa (negotiable dependent on experience/skill set) , plus £1000 Welcome Bonus!!

Contract: Perm

Shift Pattern: Full Time 40hrs - to include weekends on rota

Nestled in the heart of the Retirement Village the 61-bedroom Care Home offers dedicated residential care, set within beautiful grounds we pride ourselves on offering comfortable bedrooms and excellent standards of care. We are looking for a Deputy Manager to work closely with the Home Manager to manage and support the care team to deliver person centred care to our residents.

You'll help us make health happen by:

  • You'll oversee and assist all aspects of nursing care/activities within the home
  • With the help of your team, you'll create and update individual electronic care plans for our residents, maintaining clear, accurate and up-to-date medication records
  • It's imperative that the correct staffing levels are maintained through efficient management of rotas, you'll ensure adequate staffing is always maintained within the home
  • Drawing on your clinical experience, you'll provide day to day support and guidance to the team - promoting our residents' independence, choice and dignity
  • You'll build lasting relationships with the residents and the people they care about, as well as caring about the home itself - fostering a sense of community
  • Creating and developing strong relationships with local partners, you will liaise with these partners, playing an important role in raising the care home's profile in the local area and beyond

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Previous experience of working as a Deputy Manager within a care home environment with a genuine commitment to adhering to CQC standards and expanding your professional development

  • An effective communicator who's able to build strong and honest relationships with residents and their families

  • Someone with excellent time management who can effectively prioritise their workload
  • A respectful and compassionate team player with the belief in giving your personal best
  • You will be proficient in Microsoft Office, knowledge and experience in electronic care planning is highly desirable.
