Job summary

CareTech in Dunoon is seeking a dedicated support worker to help children and young people with daily routines and activities, providing a warm, safe, and encouraging environment.

You’ll record key information using electronic care systems; training is provided, with a paid induction and a full-time contract. DBS/PVG checks are required; experience in childcare is valued.

Qualifications

• Background in childcare, ASN or support work beneficial.
• Prepared for enhanced DBS/PVG check as part of safeguarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist young people with daily routines (getting ready for school, meals, activities).
• Build warm, supportive relationships and provide emotional support.
• Keep essential records; use electronic care recording systems (Clearcare advantageous).
• Participate in planning and joining activities and ensure safe, homely environment.

What You’ll Do

As a support worker, you will support young people with their daily routines; Getting them ready for school, prepping for meal times and planning activities. You will also:

• Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping.
• Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.
• Plan and join fun activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects.
• Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care.
• New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided. However, all staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role.
