Job summary

idverde is seeking an experienced Arborist to join our Downpatrick team. You will work outdoors, applying professional arboriculture knowledge and safety practices to maintain and manage trees within our green service projects.

The role requires a valid UK driving licence and relevant NPTC qualifications. We offer career development, training, and a supportive, inclusive workplace across the UK.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Arborist team.
• Full UK manual driving licence is essential.
• Excellent understanding of arboriculture and safe operations.
• Awareness of safety protocols to protect surveyors and others near trees.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out arborist duties as part of the Downpatrick team.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws safely and efficiently.
• Follow safety protocols and company procedures at all times.
• Contribute to diverse projects across green services in the UK.

Requirements

• Previous experience of working in an Arborist team.
• A full valid UK manual driving licence is essential.
• Excellent understanding of arboriculture and the ability to undertake operations safely and competently.
• Awareness of safety protocols and procedures is critical to ensure the well-being of both the surveyor and others in the vicinity of trees being assessed.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

• CS30 / NPTC 201 - Level 3 Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting
• CS31 / NPTC 202 - Level 3 Felling Small Trees <380mm
• CS32 / NPTC 304 - Level 3 Felling and Processing Medium Trees (380-760mm)
• CS38 / NPTC 203 - Level 2 Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue
• CS39 / NPTC 204 - Level 2 Operate a Chain Saw from a Rope and Harness
• CS40 / NPTC 302 - Level 3 Aerial Tree Pruning (desirable)
• CS41 / NPTC 309 - Level 3 Aerial Tree Rigging and Dismantling (desirable)
• Chipper and Pole Saw certificates would be an advantage.
