Job summary

Brook Street in Scotland is seeking a hands-on maintenance technician to support day-to-day manufacturing operations, troubleshoot faults, and keep production running safely and efficiently. You will work in a small team where your contributions are visible and improvements you make can impact output.

You will perform routine checks, assist with planned maintenance, monitor performance, and uphold high health and safety standards while ensuring smooth handovers between shifts.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an operations, production, or technician role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills, with root-cause analysis.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment docs and maintenance logs.
• Competence with standard workshop tools and testing equipment.
• Good health and safety awareness in manufacturing settings.
• Detail-oriented with a methodical approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure production targets are met safely and efficiently.
• Carry out routine checks, inspections, and maintenance activities to keep equipment operating to specification.
• Diagnose faults and carry out first‑line troubleshooting on production plant and associated systems.
• Assist with planned maintenance schedules and help coordinate downtime to minimise disruption.
• Monitor process performance and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and throughput.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and any corrective actions taken.
• Follow health and safety procedures and ensure safe working practices are adhered to at all times.
• Work closely with the wider team to support smooth handovers between shifts and departments.
