Job summary

JG Foods t/a Grape Tree Limited is seeking a Retail Store Manager for 35 hours per week in Crawley. You will lead a busy store, ensure the shop is well stocked, clean and welcoming, and help customers leave with a lasting positive impression.

You will also oversee stock deliveries, pricing accuracy and the rotation of goods. The role requires hands-on leadership, stock control expertise, till operation, and a focus on delivering high standards of service, hygiene and safety.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service, ideally in food retail.
• Excellent staff supervision and organisational skills.
• Organised & practically minded, be able to roll your sleeves up.
• Experience as Retail Store Supervisor/Manager or related roles.

Responsibilities

• Stock control: ordering goods, deliveries and banking monies.
• Be a hands-on manager.
• Operate the till in accordance with company instructions.
• Provide highest possible standard of customer service.
• Ensure shelves are well filled/stocked and faced at all times.
• Ensure correct pricing and stock rotation; remove use-by products.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety.
• Observe company rules and report breaches witnessed.
• Ensure staff fully cooperate to keep the store running smoothly.

RETAIL STORE MANAGER – 35 HOURS PER WEEK

Established in 2012 Grape Tree currently has 195 stores in the UK

ROLE:

You will provide fast, efficient, pleasant and unrivalled customer service. As a Retail Store Manager of Grape Tree, you need to ensure that the store is well stocked, clean and tidy and that customers leave the store with a lasting image to ensure they keep returning.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• a) Strong understanding of stock control ie ordering goods, dealing with deliveries and banking monies
• b) You must be a hands on manager
• c) Operate the till in accordance with the company instructions
• d) Provide highest possible standard of customer service.
• e) Ensure that the shelves are well filled/stocked and faced up at all times.
• f) Ensure correct pricing of products and stock rotation including the removal from sale of any goods exceeding the ``use by`` date and advise management of any ``Best before`` issues.
• g) Ensure the maintenance of high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety throughout the store.
• h) Observe company rules at all times and report any breach of company rules witnessed.
• i) Ensuring all staff fully co-operate to ensure the smooth running of the store.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

• a) Ability to provide excellent customer service, ideally with experience in food retail.
• c) Excellent staff supervision and organisational skills
• d) Organised & practically minded, be able to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in
• e) You may have experience of the following: Retail Store Supervisor/Manager, Food Retail, Supermarket, Customer Service, Convenience Store, etc.

The store trades Monday to Sunday and it is essential that the successful candidate is flexible to work within these hours
