Job summary

Voyage Care in Crewe is seeking genuinely caring, hands-on Support Workers to enhance the quality of life for people we support. You will help individuals gain independence, assist with daily tasks and support participation in community activities.

Applicants should have a full UK driving licence, be resilient and flexible, and have experience with Positive Behaviour Support and reflective practice. DBS checks will be required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence.

We’re on the hunt for genuinely caring, hands-on Support workers with a passion for enhancing the quality of life of the people we support. As a support worker with us you'll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people!

Our supported living service in Crewe is a welcoming and friendly environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same! You’ll be enhancing the life of a person we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with limited personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities. One day you could be out with the person we support in the local Bingo hall and shopping, the next you could be unwinding with them completing crafts, watching films or going to the cinema.

This is an amazing role for someone who is looking to really make a difference to someone's life and to help them grow in confidence and independence so that they meet their goals, whether this be making dinner by themselves or going on holiday.

We’re interested in our Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Support Workers should hold a full UK driving license, be resilient, flexible and composed in their approach, have experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice as well as experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviours of distress. The support worker must have excellent communications skills, this includes verbal de-escalation that may be needed at any given time. The support worker must work well in a small team and communicate well with them at all times to ensure behaviours of distress are reduced.
