City Cabs (Edinburgh) Ltd in Edinburgh is seeking an experienced vehicle mechanic to join our busy taxi fleet workshop. You will carry out routine servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on licensed taxis, ensuring faults are identified quickly and work is completed safely and to a high standard.

This hands-on, shop-floor role focuses on quality, reliability and record-keeping, with no sales targets.

Qualifications

• Qualified and experienced vehicle mechanic.
• Experience working in a taxi fleet or high-volume workshop preferred.
• Ability to perform servicing, diagnostics and repairs to high standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing and maintenance
• Fit and repair tyres
• Inspect, service, and replace braking systems
• Repair and replace exhaust components
• Replace batteries and other routine service items
• Carry out suspension and steering repairs
• Perform specific diagnostic work and fault finding
• Complete vehicle safety inspections
• Identify any additional repair requirements
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard
• Maintain accurate records of work completed
• Keep the workshop clean, safe, and organised
• Work closely with the garage team to minimise vehicle downtime

Experienced Vehicle Mechanic– Taxi Fleet

City Cabs (Edinburgh) Ltd is looking for a qualified and experienced mechanic to join our busy taxi garage.

You will work on our licensed taxi fleet, carrying out routine servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. Our priority is to identify faults efficiently, complete work to a high standard, and return vehicles to service safely and promptly.

This is a practical, hands-on role within a busy workshop. Unlike many retail garage positions, there are no sales or upselling targets.
