Job summary

Fawkes & Reece is looking for an experienced civil/ construction professional to manage infrastructure projects in Wales, delivering from award to completion while maintaining safety, quality and environmental standards.

You will oversee site staff, report on budget and progress, and work with senior managers to ensure programme targets are met. Chartered status is desirable and a CSCS/SMSTS background is essential.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering/Construction management degree or NVQ Level 6+ in a relevant subject matter.
• Desirable: Chartered status or approaching.
• Evidence of training in Form of Contracts, Formwork/Falsework, Concrete Technology, H&S Management etc.
• Proven experience on challenging and diverse projects with major clients.
• Progression to Site Agent through career development with theory and practice.
• Site qualifications: CSCS, SMSTS (5 day), First Aid at Work (4 day), Water Hygiene card.

• Reporting to senior Manager on department budget control and progress against programme.
• Ensuring safe systems of work and the Company Safety Policy are practiced.
• Enforcement and monitoring of the Division's Quality Assurance and Environmental systems.

Job description

My client is a Leading Construction and Civil Engineering Contractor.

They are presently delivering vital improvement works on the Welsh Water Framework and are seeking reinforcements to deliver the works.

The framework which is set to run for at least the next 5+ years will focus on both clean and waste water projects and could involve work to new or existing treatment plants, pumping stations and much more.

The Opportunity

You will be managing projects within the Infrastructure Business Unit in the Water streams from contract award through to completion - achieving acceptable financial outcomes whilst adhering to the quality, safety and environmental policies. You will report to either a Contracts Manager or Project Manager depending on the value and complexity of project and personal experience/ability.

What you will be doing

• Indirectly supervise Site Engineer, Foreman and Gangers.

Requirements:

• Essential: Civil Engineering/Construction management degree or NVQ Level 6+ in a relevant subject matter.
• Desirable: Chartered status or approaching.
• Evidence of relevant post-graduation practical training e.g., attendance on courses for Form of Contracts, Formwork/Falsework Appreciation, Concrete Technology, H & S Management etc.
• Possesses proven experience on challenging and diverse projects with major clients e.g., LUL, HA, Water Companies, Petro/Chem.
• Proven experience from engineering background demonstrating progress to Site Agent through career development with both theoretical and practical experience.
• Site qualifications: CSCS card, SMSTS (5 day), First Aid at Work (4 day), National Water Hygiene card
