Job summary

Heart of England Co-operative Society is seeking a hands-on Team Leader for Hinckley Food Store, with 24 or 16 hours per week. You’ll lead from the front, own shifts, coach your team, and drive strong customer service to make the store a community focal point.

You’ll support recruitment, onboarding and training, manage performance and attendance, and uphold high standards in stock, merchandising and compliance. A clear pathway to Store Management is provided.

Job description

We’re looking for a Team Leader to join our Hinckley Food Store (24 or 16 hours per week).

This is your opportunity to move beyond a standard retail role and take real ownership—leading a team, driving performance, and building the skills to progress into Store Management.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Team Leader, you’ll take responsibility for key areas of the store and step up to run the operation in the absence of the Store Manager.

You’ll:

• - Lead, coach and develop your team to deliver strong performance
• - Take ownership of shifts, including opening and closing the store
• - Drive excellent customer service and make us the go-to store in the community

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll be expected to lead from the front and make decisions that impact the store’s success.
