Job summary

York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management is seeking a Catering Operative for Bridlington. The role covers working in the Main Kitchen and Dining Room, serving meals and supporting event catering within the trust.

A strong team player who can also work independently is ideal, with full training provided and enhanced weekend rates. Applicants should be adaptable, able to work variable hours, and capable of carrying out physically demanding tasks while maintaining HACCP standards.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have catering experience and be fantastic with customers.
• Must be a good team player and able to work unsupervised.
• Full training will be provided and enhanced rates apply on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Make sure food trollies are ready for ward areas.
• Serve in Dining Room.
• Deliver food to functions and events within the trust.
• Use ovens to regenerate food.
• Keep kitchen areas clean and hygienic.
• Monitor food temperatures as part of HACCP.
• Wash up and handle general cleaning duties.
• Pick and pack food ready for service.

Bridlington Hospital Catering Department requires enthusiastic Catering Operatives to work in all areas of the Department, Main Kitchen and Dinning Room.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to be adaptable and flexible, in order to work variable hours. You must be able to use initiative, be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal and organisational/time management skills.

Applicants must be able to work under pressure, prioritise their own workload and be able to carry out physical tasks.

Duties include,but is not limited to:

• Making sure food trollies are ready for ward areas.
• Serving in Dining Room .
• Delivering food to functions and events within the trust as required.
• Using ovens to regenerate food.
• Keeping the kitchen areas clean.
• Monitoring food temperatures as part of HACCP.
• Washing up and other general cleaning duties.
• Picking and packing food ready for service.

The ideal candidate will have catering experience, be fantastic with customers, a good team player and able to work on their own unsupervised. Full training will also be provided. Enhanced rates apply when working at the weekend.
