Job summary

Perth and Kinross Council is recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Triple Driver to support the Blairgowrie area. Experience with Triple Drivers and large grass cutting machines is required; you will also perform general maintenance and environmental duties.

The role includes working Sundays to Wednesdays across week patterns and features a broad range of duties including burials support, litter collection, and pesticide application where needed.

Qualifications

• Horticultural background with good plant knowledge.
• Cat C1E driving licence essential; Current CPC desirable.
• Must be able to complete timesheets, work schedules and maintenance records.
• Working knowledge of computers/smartphones beneficial.
• Must be physically fit and able to walk with loads over rough ground in all weathers.

Responsibilities

• Grass and hedge cutting, litter collection and maintenance tasks in the Blairgowrie area.
• Pesticide application where required.
• Assist with burials, street sweeping and refuse collection as needed.
• Support other Environment Service tasks as required.

Grounds Maintenance Triple Driver -

PKC14196

This post is for a Triple Driver, therefore you must have experience of driving Triples and other types of large grass cutting machines and be able to use the associated ancillaries and attachments. The triple is used across the Highland areas.

You will also work as part of a team, where you will perform maintenance tasks throughout the Blairgowrie area such as grass and hedge cutting, pesticide application and litter collection.

You may also be required to carry out other duties such as assisting with burials, street sweeping, refuse collection and any other Environment Service's tasks as and when required.

You may also be required to undertake other duties to assist other services.

The Environment Service has moved from the traditional Mon-Fri shift patterns, this post is Sun to Wed week 1, Sun to Tue week 2 working pattern.

Skills & Experience Required

You should have horticultural background with good plant knowledge.

A Cat C1E driving licence is essential with Current CPC being desirable.

You must be able to complete paperwork associated with the post e.g. timesheets, work schedules, maintenance records etc.

A working knowledge and experience of computers/ smart phones would also be beneficial.

You must be able to carry out the physical demands of the post. To be successful in this role, you will be physically fit and be prepared to walk carrying/ moving loads over rough ground in all weathers.

You will have a strong constitution with regards to adverse odours and may be required to work overtime.
