Arun & Chichester Citizens Advice invites applications for an Energy Home Visitor to deliver high quality energy advice during home visits across Arun & Chichester and wider West Sussex. The role supports households facing fuel poverty with practical energy efficiency guidance.

Working part-time on a 12-month fixed term contract, you will assess homes, advise on heating, EPCs, retrofit measures and how to engage landlords. Some office work may be required as projects develop.

• Home visits to clients in their own homes across Arun & Chichester and West Sussex.
• Provide high quality, practical energy efficiency advice to support fuel poverty reduction.
• Explain retrofit measures, heating efficiency, EPCs, and energy saving opportunities.

Job description: Arun & Chichester Citizens Advice are pleased to have received funding from The Energy Redress Scheme to tackle fuel poverty in West Sussex and deliver a vital home visiting service, where our clients will receive essential energy efficiency advice and support.

We are now recruiting a home visitor for the Home Improvement Service (HIS) to provide high quality, effective and efficient energy advice to clients in vulnerable situations who require, due to capability, complexity of the issue, a home visit to support with tackling fuel poverty. The project aims to empower individuals to make conscious efforts to change energy behaviours, understand how their actions impact the environments and how they can improve the fabric of their home to enable a future where they can live safe and well, whilst reducing their carbon footprint.

• Damp and mould
• Effective use of heating systems
• Energy Performance Certificates
• Small energy saving measures
• Retrofit measures and grants available
• Reducing carbon emissions
• How tenants can effectively communicate with their landlord for repair issues
• The Local Authority and Ombudsman and act on the client's behalf where necessary
