Job summary

Enva Group is seeking a hands-on Reactive Maintenance Engineer for its refurbished eWaste site in Stourbridge. The role focuses on SDA and SDA pre-pick processing, keeping equipment safe, reliable and available with a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

You will perform reactive maintenance, planned preventive maintenance and continuous improvement, with wiring, welding and fabrication as needed. Reporting to the Operations Director, the role requires a proactive, detail‑oriented approach and strict

Qualifications

• Level 3 engineering qualification or equivalent practical competence.
• Practical maintenance experience in industrial/manufacturing/recycling environments.
• Experience with fault-finding and repair of conveyors, motors, bearings, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Ability to respond calmly to breakdowns in a fast-paced, production-led setting.
• Good understanding of safety, machinery isolation and safe maintenance practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and clear maintenance records.
• Willingness to work 4 on 4 off days/nights shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide reactive maintenance support across the 4 on 4 off shift, prioritising production-critical breakdowns.
• Maintain, fault-find and repair SDA and SDA pre-pick equipment including conveyors, motors and hydraulics/pneumatics.
• Complete planned preventive maintenance in line with site schedule and priorities.
• Diagnose mechanical/electrical faults and escalate specialist issues as needed.
• Overhaul and improve machinery to boost reliability and safety.
• Carry out welding, fabrication and general repairs within competence.
• Support commissioning and optimisation of refurbished site equipment.
• Identify root-cause of faults and implement corrective actions and improvements.
• Ensure all work complies with site safety procedures and risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and spares monitoring.
• Collaborate with operations, contractors and other engineers with effective handovers.
• Support other shifts and planned shutdowns as required.
