Colossus Recruitment Ltd is seeking a talented Front End Software Engineer with strong React.js experience to design, develop and enhance customer-facing platforms and internal systems. You will build high-quality web applications using React, JavaScript and TypeScript, collaborating with back-end teams to deliver scalable, user-friendly interfaces.

In this hybrid role you’ll have significant autonomy, participate in agile ceremonies and help drive UX improvements across projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of commercial React.js experience.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Experience integrating and consuming APIs and building user-focused interfaces.
• Familiarity with agile methods and modern web tooling.

The Role

As a Front End Software Engineer, you will:

• Build and maintain high-quality, scalable web applications using React.js, JavaScript, TypeScript and modern web technologies
• Develop intuitive and engaging user interfaces that deliver exceptional user experiences
• Work with frameworks and libraries such as React, Next.js and similar modern technologies
• Integrate applications with APIs, databases and cloud-based services
• Collaborate with back-end developers to deliver seamless client-server functionality
• Develop new features and enhancements across customer and internal platforms
• Ensure software quality through automated, integration and unit testing
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve application issues
• Contribute to code reviews and technical discussions
• Drive improvements across development tools, architecture and documentation
• Work closely with Business Analysts and stakeholders to transform requirements into effective solutions

Essential Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years' commercial experience with React.js
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS
• Experience integrating and consuming third-party and internal APIs
• Understanding of Azure cloud services
• Experience working with SQL databases
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
• Good understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into intuitive user-focused solutions

Experience working with modern frameworks such as:

• React.js
• Next.js
• Blazor

Experience using API testing tools such as:

• Postman
• Swagger
• Similar API validation platforms

Desirable Skills

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

• Laravel
• C#
• Knockout.js
• ServiceNow
• Working within a fast-paced SME environment
