Job description

We are looking for a Reablement Worker to join our Short-Term Support Service in North Northumberland (Berwick and surrounding area) on a permanent, 30 hour contract.

The successful candidate will be part of a team providing short‑term limited interventions to promote people’s independence. The role typically involves visiting people in their homes and supporting them to regain their ability to carry out a range of day‑to‑day tasks.

You will work with people to set personal goals and help them to achieve them. This could include helping with personal care and meal preparation, improving mobility within the home and helping them to get out into their community.

Your focus will be on helping people to regain their ability to live their best life. Full training and supervision are provided and there are opportunities to develop a career in care.

Some staff have moved to management positions in care and others have developed careers in allied areas such as social work qualifications or moving into commissioning and quality assurance roles.

If you have a caring nature, enjoy working with people, and would like to make a difference to people’s lives, we would love to hear from you!

Main duties of the job

The service runs from 7 am – 10 pm, 7 days a week. You will be expected to work on a rota that includes AM and PM shifts.

Our service is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.

The main responsibilities include promoting independence with:

  • Personal care, including showering and dressing
